iPad 3 Will See A $70-80 Price Hike [Rumor]

">On February 27, 2012, by Braden With all of the iPad 3 rumors flowing into many websites, one question still has not been answered, what will the iPad 3 cost? If we use Apple pricing matrix, the iPad 3 models will remain at the same price as their current counterparts. However a post by MacRumors claims to know otherwise.

They have received information from a source claiming that in the above market, the iPad 3 WiFi models are $80 more than their iPad 2 brothers, and $70 more for the 3G models. While I take this with a great grain of salt as it is odd for any price hike, even more odd that Chinese locals will have US prices.

While it is clear that the iPad 3 will be announced soon, especially since many retailers such as Best Buy are cutting iPad 2 prices to help eliminate stock, there has been talk that Apple will continue selling the iPad 2 at a reduced cost. They did this for the original iPad, cutting the cost just enough to persuading some customers in buying the original.

Well, I would max accept a price hike on 80$ because orelse I would defenetely (Sorry for the bad spelling skill) be happy with an iPad 2!

I think, seeing in the UK the currency conversion doesn’t work as it should, adding £80 onto the price [which is usually the case if $80] is a bit steep, potentially a quarter of the price again.

There isn’t gonna be any real price hike, Apple can’t afford to scare away potentials new buyers who are finally waiting to get into the tablet game.
