Samsung makes Galaxy Nexus UK release date official

Samsung has made the Galaxy Nexus UK release date of 17 November official, after Amazon outed the same date in late October.

It's only taken Samsung a week to get around to telling us something we already knew, but it's always nice to make these things official.

So come 17 November, you'll be able to pick up the first Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) handset, which comes featuring a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 5MP camera and a waist-size of just 8.94mm.

Fever pitch

"The level of interest and anticipation surrounding the release of the Galaxy Nexus has been fantastic," said Simon Stanford, head of mobile at Samsung UK.

"We're delighted to introduce the Galaxy Nexus to the UK and are looking forward to seeing it in the shops on 17th of November."

Apparently heading to "a range of UK retailers" including Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, O2 and Three, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus UK pricing will be around £45 a month on contract deals or around £549 SIM-free.
