Google Nexus Prime launch 'sooner than you think'

Samsung looks likely to be launching the Google Nexus Prime, the first Ice Cream Sandwich-toting phone, in the near future according to the UK sales director.

The phone was supposed to be launched at CTIA today, but after Steve Jobs' death the announcement was postponed to a future date.

But Andrew Glass from Samsung let slip that the new phone was in the offing to T3:

"You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think."

Yeah, we know

The Nexus Prime is hardly a secret with all manner of pictures, specs and release dates leaked out for the last few months, meaning we've got a pretty good picture of what the next Nexus phone will look like.

The new phone will likely pack a huge 720p 4.5-inch screen, with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and no physical keys to speak of.

We're expecting the Google Nexus Prime launch date to land on 27 October at the moment, but it seems that we could be seeing the new phone even sooner than that if the word of Glass is to be believed.
